Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated National Title Underwriter to join our team! In this role, you will evaluate title searches, prepare title commitments, and handle related documents in alignment with local and state regulations, as well as underwriter guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer and client inquiries received via phone, fax, or email, always with a friendly and personable approach.
- Review title searches to confirm the clarity of titles and identify steps necessary to achieve a clear title.
- Prepare title commitments, Preliminary Closing Disclosures, Closing Protection Letters, and other title documents following industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies throughout the underwriting process.
- Collaborate effectively with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary documentation and resolve outstanding issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring clients have a positive experience by responding to service requests promptly.
- Clearly and concisely explain underwriting decisions to borrowers, loan officers, and other relevant parties.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and underwriting standards to maintain the highest level of service.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and clients.
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles, practices, and guidelines.
- Proficient negotiation skills to communicate effectively with borrowers and other stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Independent worker with a strong sense of accountability for meeting goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with title software systems is preferred.

Schedule
- Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Full-time, non-exempt position.

- This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, & WY. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to consider candidates from states not listed for remote work.
- For local candidates, there may be an option to work in-office at our Virginia Beach, VA location.
