Join a Leader in Specialty Insurance as a Senior Underwriter!
Are you ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic and forward-thinking organization? We're seeking a motivated Senior Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in underwriting, marketing, and processing within our private commercial line of business. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to special projects and mentor junior team members. We value flexibility and are open to remote work for the right candidate in the Western region.
What You'll Do:
- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business submissions for our private commercial line.
- Drive our marketing initiatives and ensure consistent communication of our products and services to retail and wholesale brokers.
- Cultivate and enhance relationships with existing brokers, and forge new connections in targeted regions to attract business opportunities.
- Participate actively in client and broker meetings.
- Develop and maintain a robust submission pipeline to meet production and business objectives.
- Leverage market contacts to generate business, gather market intelligence, and cross-sell our products.
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
- Previous insurance education and IIA and CPCU designations are preferred.
- At least five years of underwriting experience with authority, ideally in excess and surplus lines.
- A genuine passion for exceeding customer expectations and delivering outstanding service.
- Proven success in building productive relationships with professional liability brokers in the Central U.S. market.
- Excellent negotiation skills and a track record of achieving favorable outcomes.
- Flexibility and resilience in a changing environment.
- Strong focus on executing tasks effectively and delivering results.
- Advanced skills in data analysis and proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary based on experience, with additional annual bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Salary ranges vary by location:
- Colorado (outside Denver metro), Maryland, Nevada, and Rhode Island: $111,300—$132,400 USD
- California (outside San Francisco metro), Connecticut, Denver metro, Washington State, and New York State (including Westchester County): $122,400—$145,600 USD
- New York City and San Francisco metro areas: $133,600—$159,000 USD
