Your Responsibilities

 

As an  Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (EHS)  for John Deere Paton located in Paton, Iowa, you will plan, design, implement and evaluate environmental, health and safety programs and processes to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with John Deere standards and appropriate laws and regulations at a manufacturing facility. In addition, you will:

 

  • Report directly to the Factory Manager and will be a member of the leadership staff for the unit
  • Prepare strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around environmental, health and safety compliance, injury reduction and ISO 14001 environmental management system
  • Analyze appropriate environmental, health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Establish environmental and safety training for all employees
  • Review new products, equipment, processes, and facilities, making recommendations, if necessary, prior to introduction
  • Manage components of workers compensation administration and return to work programs. Act as a liaison with third party administrators, occupational health clinic and other external support
  • Ensure thorough investigations of environmental, safety, and ergonomic incidents. Collaborate with occupational health to ensure appropriate documentation is completed. Manage corrective action and preventative action processes
  • Develop and manage the budget and required resources

What Skills You Need

 

  • 4 or more years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of EHS governmental/agency regulatory requirements and EHS programs with the ability to apply to workplace environments
  • Analytical and investigation skills to determine root cause and conduct trend analysis of incidents
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work overtime based on business needs
  • Ability to use MS Office 365

Education

 

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering/Technology, or Occupational Health and Safety discipline
